At the Detroit Auto, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was officially revealed. With its sleek new styling, the 2019 Silverado appears to have a lot more off-road capabilities. The 2018 Silverado has just under 9 inches of ground clearance in the front while the 2019 Silverado shown above has just over 9 inches of ground clearance. The truck shown has an off-road package which gives it more ground clearance, but the standard Silverado has the same as the 2018. Overall, The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has lost 88 pounds and has gained 4 inches. Thankfully, the 4 inches of extra legroom goes into the rear seats so there not so cramped. There are also three engines available. A 5.3-liter gasoline engine, a 6.2-liter gasoline engine, and a Turbo diesel engine. Chevrolet has also worked on improving gas mileage. When you are driving and you exceed a speed of 55 mph, the little slats in the grille close to giving the truck better aerodynamics and improve gas mileage by up to 12%. The Silverado can also shut down half of its cylinders at one time to get even better gas mileage. That technology is nothing new, but I personally find it annoying because when you step on the gas you want all 8 cylinders there, not four. Most importantly, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado offers a power tailgate just like the Ford Superduty's do. Chevrolet is also starting to use aluminum to make their trucks lighter, just like Ford. Chevrolet also has put a 10-speed transmission in the 2019 Silverado. The last two gears,  I'm assuming are overdrive gears. The Chevrolet Camaro also has a 10-speed transmission with overdrive gears too. Chevrolet also put billions of dollars into their manufacturing plants for production of the 2019 pickups. Although this body style is spectacular, the HD Silverado models will have the 2018 body style. You probably won't see a new body style on the HD models until late 2019 or early 2020.

Sadly this car doesn't have a rating yet because we haven't gotten the chance to drive it yet. From the pictures, this car gets a sold 10 on styling but until its driven, we can't give the full rating for the new Chevrolet Silverado quite yet.
